When I first heard of the honeydew honey, inspired and conspired
by the pesky lantern fly, my first thought (clearly not the best thought)
was of a cliched “honey to-do list” try. If a pesky fly resistant
to efforts to contain its spread finds its way into some of the city’s
most high-end purveyors of bottled and flavored honey this far south
of Maine, it’s no wonder that tasks and to-do lists persist for it’s always
much easier to take an express train from trees of heaven to retail bliss.
About the Poem
As lantern flies proliferate, I was surprised to learn of an unlikely retail mate.
